My favorite Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell-Horner, welcomed a baby boy into the world on Saturday. Geri announced the birth of her son, Montague George Hector Horner, with a touching black and white photo on Instagram. (The baby’s middle name is a tribute to Geri’s dear friend, the late George Michael.) Geri also has a 10-year-old daughter, the equally eccentrically-named Bluebell Madonna. The proud mama captioned the snap “Montague George Hector Horner arrived this morning, a beautiful little brother for Bluebell and Olivia #amazing-day #grateful #monty.” Olivia is hubby Horner’s three-year-daughter from a prior relationship.
The 44-year-old singer, children’s book author and TV hostess also shared the news on Twitter, announcing, “Christian and I are delighted to announce our baby boy was born this morning weighing 7lbs 8oz.” Fun fact: Montague (let’s hope, for his sake, he goes by Monty when he starts school) shares a birthday with Geri’s BFF Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton, who just celebrated birthday #41. (Feel old yet?) Geri instagrammed a throwback photo with Emma from the set of the video “Say You’ll Be There.”
I have made it no secret how much I adore Geri, and I’m so happy for her and Christian. Hopefully, the new arrival will inspire more music – and the Spice Girls reunion I’m still hoping against hope for! Congrats to the happy family!
